Limited to 12 students.

Pastel Workshop for beginners and intermediates
In this course students will learn to create a landscape using soft pastel on sanded paper.
First, we will create a underpainting roadmap of light and dark shapes by using pastel and rubbing alcohol.
Second, once dry, we will apply layers of vibrant colors of pastels, going from large shapes to smaller shapes for details. Your image will retain a freshness of color as I walk you through the step by step process through demonstration and hand-outs.
By the end of the day you will have a vibrant, colorful landscape which will be matted and ready for framing.

“I have worked with oils and watercolors but when I found pastels I fell in love with their vibrant color and freshness of application.
From a tiny plein air sketch to a large 24”x72” corporate painting the applications of brilliant pastels colors always excites me."
