EXPERIENCE LEVEL
The upcoming workshops will be for beginners on Saturdays and intermediates on Sunday.
Beginners are those who have never taken a pastel workshop from me before.
All levels are welcome for Saturday.
Sunday's workshop is for intermediates and for those who took the Saturday Workshop.
COURSE AND WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
All workshops will open at 9:00 am - settle in, get a pastry, have some coffee or tea and say hi to your neighbor.
Teaching begins at 9:30-4:00.
January 10 Beginner Saturday workshop will start with a quick discussion of materials and a demonstration. The main focus for the Saturday January 10 will be to have fun creating a cartoon "Purple Cow". This easy image will be fun but also give you a chance to practice the basics through my "step by step" method.
February 7 Beginner Saturday will focus on creating a landscape using step by step teaching. We will have the entire day to create the landscape - less pressure and plenty of fun.
For the Beginnner Saturday workshops if you are at the intermediate level but want to come, bring your own reference photos. Bring many photos so we can talk about what would be the best choice for your day long project. You won't get as much attention as the beginners but I will be there to consult on your progress.
Sunday's Intermediate workshops Feb. 8 & March 8, will focus on expressive mark-making as we attempt to "Keep it Fresh" This will include a painting in 50 strokes with purposeful color choices and strokes. More to come as I figure it out. :-)
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES
Students need a set of at least 36 Nupastels Nupastels ($38 at DickBlickDickBlick.com). The teacher will be using a set of 96 NuPastels ($92 at DickBlick.com) and also SennelierSennelier Plein PleinAir Landscape 80 1/2 sticks ($134 at DickBlick.com.) Sennelier Sennelier pastels are a great addition to your set but not necessary for the workshop. Also check prices at Jerrysartarama.com
